An evening to celebrate the life of Gary Marston on what would have been his 59^th birthday.

An auction of donated goods and promises including Sporting Memorabilia, Jewellery, Watches, rare whisky, hair & beauty products/vouchers, a methuselah of wine (6 litres), also vouchers for holidays, experiences, professional services and more.

Introduction from AP.

 "To put it quite simply, Gary Marston, also known as “Topo”, was my best friend.

We met by chance at a charity event in Stoke-on- Trent around 2006. He was the MC and I had been asked to do the auction. We hit it off instantly and stayed in touch. At that time Gary was working as a bailiff and I was working for an auction house in Knutsford.

In May 2008 I left my job to start Adam Partridge Auctioneers & Valuers and we had our first auction in September. Right from the start, Gary was there to help with anything including house clearances and security. I persuaded him to start a removals business, saying he could do all our transport & clearances and also get house removals. The first of many vans was bought and Barker & Marston was started – this became Marston & Price soon after. Over the years our businesses both grew - Gary came to have several vans in his fleet and a never-ending supply of beefy doormen to do the lifting.

He never missed an auction and his cheerful and welcoming personality meant that he became a firm favourite with all the regular buyers (he often wore any hat that was in the sale – usually a Bowler but surprisingly a police helmet on a couple of occasions!)

On 17^th February this year Gary called to tell me he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and he passed away just 100 days later. This auction has been put together with donations from some of the many people who loved and admired Gary. We aim to start “The Gary Marston Trust” which will support the many charities that were close to his heart including giving some hope to disadvantaged youngsters from the city he loved through boxing, the sport he loved.

Thank you to those who donated and purchased, this is a special event not just for me but for my family and staff."
