Pre-Bidding Inspection

  • Buyers are expected to inspect lots or otherwise satisfy themselves regarding:
    • Physical Condition: Including any defects.
    • Catalogue Description: Refer to General Conditions 2.4 and 2.5 for details about descriptions.

Gemstones

  • All gemstones are presumed to be synthetic or treated, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the description.

ID Requirement

  • All bidders must provide a copy of photographic ID to place a bid.

Condition Reports

  • Deadline: Requests must be made no later than 5pm on the Friday prior to the sale.

 Bidding

  • Deadline: All bids must be received by 6:30pm on the Monday prior to the sale.
  • Bidding Options:
    • Website: Free registration; live bidding incurs a 2% fee + VAT on the hammer price.
    • Email: Send bids to the designated bidding email.
    • The-Saleroom.com: Bids and live bidding incur a 4.95% fee + VAT.

 Invoices and Payment

  • Invoices: Sent on the Wednesday evening after the auction.
  • Payment Methods:
    • Preferred: Use the payment link in your invoice.
    • Alternative Options: Bank transfer (specific details per branch), online payment via the website, or debit card payment over the phone.
    • Credit Card: Accepted only for invoices under £200.

 Collections

  • Appointment Only:
    • Monday to Friday after the sale: 10:00am to 5:00pm.
    • Lots are to be collected within a week of the auction, prompt. We are a small auction room and require the space.
    • Lots not collected within a week of the sale will be charged storage charges of £5 plus VAT per lot per day.
    • Please note that we only offer in-house postage on very small items. If you are a winning bidder via the-saleroom.com, you will receive an automated quote via email from Auction Logistics following the auction. This is a separate service from a third party company.
    • Small items may be requested for transfer between certain branches, please contact us to enquire if your lots are suitable. We are unable to guarantee a transfer date, so if you do require your item for a specific date, please make arrangements with a courier of your choosing.
