A ship's wall mounted hand bell, with clapper, inscribed 'True Reward L.T 172' height of bell including bracket 30cm x diameter of base 20 cm
Provenance: The bell was brought into a pub in Gloucester docks, run by the vendor's parents, by a man who broke up boats. True Reward was a Wood Screw Steamer and was registered in Lowestoft on 30th May, 1913, and built by Samuel Richards and Co Ltd. During both the First and Second World War, the ship was used as a boom defence vessel.
