Nick Jefferies’ Britten,1994

Nick Jefferies’ Britten,1994

Although it never won an Isle of Man TT race, the Britten machine is still looked upon as one of the iconic machines of the 1990s. Brainchild of New Zealand’s John Britten, the V1000 had no traditional frame instead using the engine as a structural component. Much of the body was carbon fibre as well as the wheels plus it had electronic data logging, unheard of back then. On its TT debut in 1993, in the hands of Shaun Harris, the vivid blue, pink and black bike produced the fastest top speed of any machine in the event. Nick Jefferies was the rider the following year with Bruce Anstey using it during a parade lap at the Classic TT

Footnote:

A heartfelt tribute to the Isle of Man’s unrivalled motorcycling road racing heritage, the TT Legends series captures the passion, pride and nostalgia that surrounds the TT.

Each meticulously crafted model sculpture celebrates an iconic moment in TT history from the past 50 years.

Each TT Legend model is a full-sized, to-scale sculpture featuring a livery inspired by its actual counterpart and the helmet of its associated rider with its design approved and authenticated by TT officials.

These very special models will only be available to purchase at this auction.
