BURSLEM INTEREST; an early 19th century ceramic jug with floral decoration and painted verse ‘Burslem Sunday School – for the education of children of all denominations, this stone was laid on the 24th day of October 1836 by Joseph Wood Superintendent, Samuel Mayer Secretary, Samuel Saint Architect, John Brooks’, signed JM and dated 1836 to the underside, height 20cm.

Staining and crazing throughout, numerous chips to the glaze, glaze crazing throughout.
