An early 19th century French 1830 model troopers Cuirass of the Carabiniers steel breastplate, faced in brass with studded border centred with a steel sunburst, mounted with French Second Empire brass badge with eagle within laurel wreath and engraved to the lower fringe, 'Manufre Rale De Klingenthal, Avril 1831' and further engraved, '2 T 2 L No.328' and to the left-hand frame, '724', with matched backplate engraved, 'Manufre Rale De Klingenthal, Mai 183?', and '2T 2L No.821', lacking waist strap, height 39cm.

There are various marks throughout the armour commensurate with age and use, the eagle to the brass badge is dented on the breast, leather straps cracked and perished, missing waist band hook to lower front plate, with a couple of the internal hooks snapped, overall good condition.
