A French 1831 pattern Gladius short sword with 19" double edge blade, stamped to the ricasso 'Coulaux Freres & Klingenthal', foundry marks to the reverse, stamped to the hilt '809', in brass mounted leather scabbard, overall length 64cm.
|The blade is quite heavily pitted with surface corrosion to the majority, the scabbard leather has dried out and has a hole in it, largely delaminated and cracked, ant he sword catches when placed all the way in, otherwise appears to be overall ok.
