A 16th century Muromachi period katana with 61cm double grooved blade, in near mint Japanese polish, signed to the tang and dated El-Roku, Hachi, Nen, Ni Gatso (made in the 8th year of 1565, February a lucky day), black lacquer saya with moco soft metal tsuba, in shakudo with nanako depicting village scenes circa 1850, tsuka has shakudo naako fuchi and kashira depicting gold and silver coloured cranes, accompanied by various Japanese import certificates, some duplicates.
