It is alleged that this watch was presented to Marshal Zhukov by Joseph Stalin in recognition of Marshal Zhukov's success fully defending Stalingrad against the German onslaught and capturing Berlin in World War II ahead of the Allied Forces so we have two Russian Army Generals depicted on this watch who were also seconded to several senior posts within the government. David told Your Local Voice that despite interest from Imperial War Museum he is keen to offer the watch back to Russia adding that 'BBC Television in Manchester have said they will cooperate with Russian television to produce a programme covering the presentation of the watch to a suitable Russian military museum as part of their military history for posterity'."
