ROGER HARGREAVES (British cartoonist, illustrator and writer of children's books (Mr Men), 1935-1988); forty-seven pen and ink doodles of whimsical animals, flowers, trees etc, on sketchbook paper, 25.5 x 20cm, unsigned (47).

Provenance:

These were given to the seller's late aunt, Marjorie Noble, in 1968. Marjorie was part of the British Librarian Council who met Roger in Uganda and these were gifted to her. Roger Hargreaves later went on to publish the Mr Men books.

Provenance:

These were given to the seller's late aunt, Marjorie Noble, in 1968. Marjorie was part of the British Librarian Council who met Roger in Uganda and these were gifted to her. Roger Hargreaves later went on to publish the Mr Men books.

These are all unsigned. We cannot guarantee the authenticity, however, the seller (Marjorie's niece) remembers her aunt referring to Roger Hargreaves as a good friend. Some pages have browned, some corners missing, a little bit of discolouration, otherwise a great collection to own.
