HELEN LAYFIELD BRADLEY MBE (1900-1979); oil on board, ‘Mumps Station, Oldham' signed and dated 1971, bears label verso "Come Frederick cried mother, George is missing, mother grandma, the three aunts, George & I the dogs, Gyp & Barney, also the Cato, Maretha & Nelson in their basket), seemed to have been waiting a long time on Mumpo station, Oldham, for fathers to come with our ?, we were just going to choose an empty carriage when we noticed George was missing, aunt Mary begged a porter to cook for a little boy in a white sailor suit. We soon found him, George and two other boys had been playing on an engine on the opposite line, "Dear One" said mother who was very glad to see him, "you are a naughty boy" and the year was 1907. 40 x 60cm, framed, complete with a copy of "And Miss Carter Wore Pink" book signed by Helen.
